Christina Cassidy, STORYKEEPER Chair

My name is Christina Cassidy. I’ve been attending DFUMC with my husband, Matt, since 2012. I'm stepmom to Alicia, 13, and mom to Ethan, 2, and Alexander, born in April 2017. I was born in Los Angeles and moved to Atlanta in 2009. After graduating in 2001 from the University of Southern California with degrees in print journalism and political science, I joined the Associated Press (AP). As an AP reporter, I cover a wide range of issues as part of a national team focused on State government and politics. During the 2016 presidential campaign, I was AP’s lead reporter on voting rights while also producing an investigative look at how hate crimes are undercounted nationally by local law enforcement agencies. I also write regularly about State fiscal challenges and Medicaid expansion under the Affordable Care Act.  I’ve been involved in our “Spiritual Strategic Journey” since it began in 2015, serving on several committees that shaped the church’s new vision, known as the Future Story.
