United Methodist Women Today
Today there are six circles that meet regularly, five during the day and one in the evening. The UMW Circles, with a total membership of around 150, are able to support many local missions. Last year they gave approximately $4,800 to local projects –- exceeding the UMW's annual budget.

Who Is a Member?
A member of United Methodist Women (UMW) is anyone who commits herself to the UMW purpose and chooses to belong. UMW welcomes all women who want to join, and celebrates an inclusive membership atmosphere.
Being a member of The United Methodist Church is not required, nor is there a minimum age for joining. United Methodist Women participate in meetings, prayer, financial giving, study, and service, as part of their local and global mission to engage and support women, children and youth,
United Methodist Women is a community of women who nurture and encourage one another in their spiritual growth, personal leadership, and transformation. As a member, each woman accepts the challenge to expand her concept of mission.
Statement of Purpose
The organized unit of UNITED METHODIST WOMEN shall be a community of women whose PURPOSE is to know God, and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the Church.

United Methodist Women is a national membership organization, with nearly 1 million members, whose purpose is to foster spiritual growth, develop leaders, and advocate for justice. Members raise approximately $20 million a year for programs and projects related to women, children, and youth, in more than 100 countries around the world!
