Children's Morning Out

Overview
Children’s Morning Out (CMO) is an early childhood program administered by Decatur First UMC that creates a loving Christian atmosphere in which children can begin their first experience of group play, while giving parents a block of free time. CMO is a wonderful outlet for small children in the community whose parents desire high quality child care at a reasonable cost. This program operates in accordance with the policies of the church’s Ministry Board, specifically the Preschool Council, and is supervised by the Weekday Children’s Ministry.

Program Details
CMO is available to children ages 6 months through 30 months. The program is open Monday, Thursday and Friday, from September through July. Hours of operation are 9:15 a.m. - 1:15 p.m. A child may attend one or two days. Children are divided into age-appropriate groups, with two staff members per twelve children. (The ratio varies for the youngest children.)

Registration
Registration for the Children’s Morning Out is on-going throughout the year. Space is dependent upon how many children are enrolled at a particular time. Due to the program’s excellent reputation in the community, the classes fill quickly. If you are interested in enrolling your child, we recommend you apply as early as twelve months prior to the start of the school year. 

To register a child, parents must fill out a registration card and pay the registration fee. Parents are notified promptly if the application is accepted. When classes are filled, a waiting list is begun and parents are notified as openings become available. Every child participating in the CMO program must have a Health Department Immunization form #3231.

Our Staff
The staff of Decatur First United Methodist Weekday Children’s Ministries is trained to provide a warm, nurturing environment that encourages the development of each child. Our staff attends in-service workshops and other training throughout the year.

Financial Policies

Registration Fee	$80 annually
One day a week	$90 per month
Two days a week	$180 per month

Tuition is due the first week of each month, but no later than the 10th of the month. There are no deductions due to illness, holidays or missed classes. There is a $10.00 late fee for tuition not paid by the 10th of the month.
