Music Ministry Opportunities for Senior Adults
Known as "Spirits of Joy," the Senior Adult Choir is one of Decatur First UMC’s beloved ministry groups. Music styles range from classic to contemporary to southern gospel, and anyone is welcome to join. Rehearsals are held Thursdays from 2:00-3:00 p.m. in the Choir Room or Music Suite.

Spirits of Joy
Directed by Mitch Weisiger, the Spirits of Joy choir enjoys learning about music and regularly participates in worship. Spirits of Joy is a primarily senior adult choir.
Rehearsals: Thursday, 2:00-3:00 p.m., Choir Room or Music Suite
Sings in Church: Approximately Every Other Month
Chancel Choir
The Chancel Choir enhances the worship of the congregation of Decatur First UMC by leading worship on a weekly basis at the 11:00 a.m. Traditional Worship Service. Additionally, the choir offers seasonal concerts.

Carillon Ringers
Directed by John Cowden, the Carillon Ringers offer handbell music to enhance worship. They also ring at seasonal concerts.

Celebration Ringers
The Celebrations Ringers offer handbell music to enhance worship. They also ring at seasonal concerts.

Come As You Are (CAYA) Worship Band
Directed by Renee` Snead, the band leads the CAYA worship service on Sunday mornings. The band includes a drummer, a keyboardist, a guitarist, and singers.

Plays in Church: Weekly
Rejoice! (Women's Ensemble)
Directed by Mitch Weisiger, the Women's Ensemble is a small group that sings in worship and at other special events.
Rehearsals: Thursday, 7:00-8:00 p.m., Choir Room or Music Suite
Sings in Church: Approximately Every Other Month
Penultimate Measure (Handbell Ensemble)
Led by John Cowden, Penultimate Measure is a small group of ringers that employ the "four-in-hand" technique. They ring in church and for other special events and services.
Rehearsals: Sunday, 6:00-6:30 p.m., Music Library, 3rd floor
Sings in Church: Approximately Every Other Month
Solo Opportunities: Vocal and Instrumental
Vocalists and Instrumentalists occasionally offer music during worship, in consultation with the Director of Music.
