Decatur First is blessed to have both outstanding clergy and staff and a vibrant, active membership. Decatur First has many members that serve in different capacities and in leadership positions that serve the mission of our church.

Decatur First Internal Reorganization Complete

Change is a good thing. It’s an especially good thing when it helps us do a better job of fulfilling our mission as a church to be in ministry to our congregation, community and the world. In 2005 Decatur First went through a prayerful and patient reorganization process. Beginning in January of 2006 we began to function under our new structure. It was clear from our very first meeting the all the hard work that went into our restructuring would pay off!

The new and improved internal structure, approved by the Ministry Board in August of 2005, created one central Ministry Leadership Council to plan and implement the ministries of Decatur First. It is the center of the internal structure and oversees support for and communication between Ministry Action Teams, who bring the vision to life. Overseeing the work of the Ministry Leadership Council is the Administrative Board, which provides administrative support and oversight for the vision. This new structure will support more Decatur First members being in ministry and will enable us to use our individual gifts and talents more effectively.
