Children's Morning Out (6 mos-2.5 years)

Overview

Children’s Morning Out is an educational program of Decatur First United Methodist Church. Under the supervision of the Weekday
Children’s Ministry, the programs operate in accordance with the policies of the Church’s Ministry Board, specifically the Pre-School Council.

Program Goals 

The goals of CMO are to provide a loving Christian atmosphere for children to begin their experience of group play and to give parents a block of free time with quality child care at a reasonable cost.

Organization

CMO is available to children ages six months through age 2 ½.  This program is open Monday, Thursday and Friday, from September through July.  Hours of operation are 9:15am- 1:15pm. A child may attend one or two days. Children are divided in age appropriate groups with two staff members per twelve children. (The ratio varies for the youngest children.)

Registration

Registration for the Children’s Morning Out is ongoing throughout the year. Classes are organized by age groups. Space is dependent upon how many children are enrolled at that particular time. Due to the programs' execellent repuation in the community, our classes fill up quickly. If you are interested in enrolling your child, we recommend you apply as early as 12 months prior to the start of the school year.

To register a child, a parent must fill out a registration card and pay the registration fee. Parents are notified promptly if the application is accepted. When classes are filled, a waiting list is begun and parents are notified as openings become available.

Our Staff

The staff of Decatur First United Methodist Weekday Children’s Ministries are trained to provide a warm, nurturing environment that encourages the development of each child. Our staff attends in-service workshops and other training throughout the year.

Health Certificates

Every child participating in our program must have a Health Department Immunization form #3231. Children five years and older must have ear, eye, and dental form #3300.
