Improving Ministry
Through Improved Facilities
From the first log cabin to the current building project in its preliminary stages, each step in growth of Decatur First United Methodist Church has been a step in faith by the congregation. The current congregation will soon be deciding about taking the next step of faith. After much thought, prayer, and hard work, The Building Committee is pleased to have our first set of preliminary plans to share with the congregation. These plans are faithful to our mission to improve the ministries of our church through improved facilities while keeping in mind that we have little land to spare.
The District Board of Buildings and Location has approved our preliminary plans for new construction. They will meet with us again as our plans move forward.
Building Committee is dedicated to giving the “Will We Grow” campaign time to teach us individually to deepen our sense of gratitude and generosity for the blessings of life and discover the joy of giving. We will wait until all have internalized these lessons before taking our next step.
In January the Building Committee will begin making presentations to and seeking input from all groups and individuals interested. Presentations will be coordinated with the Long Range Planning Committee. To schedule the two week series, contact Lexi Parker. You will automatically be in contact with Lexi via e-mail to schedule both the Long Range Plan presentation and the Building Committee presentation.
If you would like to make comments or express concerns click here to e-mail Sue Church. Your input is welcomed.
These are exciting times, the Committee wants everyone involved. Please help Decatur First take the next step of faith.
